Blind Person Box (Patent number 61150)

This is a device with which all subjects can be taught to blind students. This device enables teachers to give written lessons to all their students simultaneously, solving one of the main issues in the blind educational system. Also, the blind students’ text books can be saved electronically in these devices, eliminating the need for such students to carry large textbooks. This device has the same purpose as a black board has for non-blind students, in other words, written communication between the teacher and students. The device is also usable in classes and lectures for the non-blind. This invention was able to achieve 2nd place in Kharazmi Youth Festival Nationals in 2006, and was chosen as one of the top 100 inventions at Iran’s Innovation and invention fair in 2009.

Inventions and Projects:

Snake Board Robot

This robot has 3 separate arms, each which has a microcontroller system and is connected wirelessly to MATLAB software. Using different controllers, these arms can be moved in such a way that the robot’s center of gravity can be shifted. By carefully controlling the position of the center of gravity, any angular path or other paths can be tracked by the robot. The arms’ feedback system consists of Optic Encoders and Potentiometer resistance, and by combining these two methods, a very accurate feedback is generated, all of which can be seen and controlled by computer using MATLAB. 2009.

Viscosity Meter

This is a device for measuring the viscosity of Newton fluids such as oil. Using an ultrasonic method, this device can measure the fluid’s viscosity with a very high accuracy in less than 1ms (one millisecond). This device won a gold medal at Geneva International Inventions Show in 2009.

Smart chess board

This is an automatic chess board in which the chess pieces are connected to the board using a magnetic field and Hall Effect Sensors. This board has a microcontroller that tracks every movement of the pieces and times each player, therefore recognizing illegal moves and cheats. This chessboard is wirelessly connected to a computer, and allows for online audience of a match (by showing the moves of each player and their time). 2008.

AVR Microcontrollers trainer board

This is an AVR trainer board that was designed for Microcontroller Laboratory, enabling instructors to teach the students how to work and design using AVR microcontrollers and how to write programs for them. This project was done for the microcontroller laboratory at School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Shiraz University, 2009.

Small Animal Treadmill

This big machine is a kind of treadmill that is made for small animals. We can exercise rats and other small animals at any speed and as long as desired. This project was done at the request of the physical education department and physical therapy department of Shiraz University in 2007 & 2008. This was a research in which Dr. Daryanoosh and his team wanted to show whether exercise can cure certain diseases such as diabetes, and how to treat this diseases with special sport programs. 5 master’s theses have been conducted on this project up to now and 3 papers have been submitted using this device.

Fish Robot

This is a robot that was designed and built in 2008 .It was a research on the manner of fish tail movement in robots and on how we can improve its speed, but unfortunately the project was not completed due to the team’s separation and lack of sufficient supplies.
